I’ve been wanting this painting for a while and finally bought it and couldn’t be happier!
First impressions: I was in awe of how beautiful the velvet canvas was, the rendering of the original artwork into a diamond painting, the tools, the gorgeous colors, and the overall quality of the kit.
Kitting up was satisfying. I have the 120-slot storage box, and one bag of drills fits perfectly in one container. Having 40 colors and 60 bags, they fit exactly, and the fact that there were the extra stickers, I wrote out the other numbers when one color was in multiple bags. The drills did have antistatic powder on them, which made them appear matte and hard to pick up, but that was an easy fix. Also, I kinda would’ve liked a sticker per bag, but that’s just me.
Initially, I used a light pad and the Lamp with Magnifying Glass when I started as my new set up and found that the rendering was gappy and I was a little disappointed. HOWEVER, the drills snap together beautifully and when the section is complete you can’t see much, if any, of the gaps. The light pad really exaggerated them, so I mostly only use the lamp. Also, the glue is a little slippery for lack of a better term, but I live in tropical weather, so that might be why, idk.
The A6 release paper doesn’t fit exactly to the size of the canvas as I don’t overlap them, so I started at the bottom and I’m so glad I did because the colours are just impeccable and the deer!? I can’t handle how cute it is!
And don’t even get me started on how SHINY the drills are!!!
Overall, I’m really happy with my purchase and glad I gave Art Dot a try. I really appreciate the real artwork and I’m happy to support real talented artists. Can’t wait for new releases!
